Former Papa Shirandula actress Daisy Odeko has opened up about how Charles Bukeko's death affected her.
Bukeko, who died at COVID-19 in 2020, he was the leading man in Papa Shirandula's local show, and his death shocked many Kenyans.
How Charles Bukeko's death affected Naliaka
Daisy played the role of Bukeko and Wilbroda's daughter; where he was known as Naliaka.
In an interview with A Woman's Journal Podcast, Daisy fought back tears as she recalled praying fervently and hoping Bukeko would rise from the morgue.
He said:
“One thing people might not know is that he wasn't just a dad on the show; he was like a real, real dad and mentor to me. He played a huge role in my life. We were talking, and everything was happening. He was fine, so his death came as a shock. too big for us – it can't be true until something happens I was spending a lot of time crying.”
Daisy also noted that they were very close and were amazed at how much Bukeko respected his family.
“He was talking a lot about his family. He was just telling me to leave your family on social media, support your family, just love your children,” he added.

How Wilbroda mourned Bukeko
Jacquey Nyaminde, popularly known as Wilbroda, paid tribute to her husband Papa Shirandula.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with TUKO.co.ke at the Pride Inn Azure Hotel during the first anniversary of Papa Shirandula, Wilbroda said he was a great actor and a perfectionist.
