Associates of the former vice president Rigathi Gachagua they visited the DCI headquarters on Kiambu road, claiming that former MP Peter Mwathi was abducted during the Limuru funeral drama.

They also asked the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) to investigate the chaos that broke out at the funeral attended by Gachagua, where hooligans disrupted the event.

What did Gachagua's allies say about the kidnapping of the former MP?

Speaking in the offices of DCI on Thursday night, November 28, Kiambu Senator Karungo Thang'wa claimed that Mwathi was taken by men in a Subaru car.

Alluding to the possibility of DCI being involved in Mwathi's disappearance, he claimed that their detectives are known for using Subaru cars and asked them to release him.

“We want to ask the DCI, please. We know you are Subaru's men. Mr. Mwathi was taken by Subaru. Please return Mwathi to his wife. The wife is here, the children are here, and of course they want their father and their husband,” Thang'wa said.

Nyandarua Senator John Methu criticized the DCI for not giving them an audience since they visited the headquarters to inquire about Mwathi's whereabouts.

“The wife of the former Member of Parliament for Limuru is here at night. We have not even been given an audience by the DCI to tell us where the honorable Mwathi is,” Methu said.

Has the DCI called Thang'wa about the Limuru riots?

In a separate case, the DCI has called Thang'wa about the incidents of chaos at a funeral in Limuru.

In a notice dated November 28, DCI Officer Joseph Chirchir, who lives in Limuru, explained the expected cooperation of the member of parliament in the investigation of the disturbances.

The notice mentioned the damage to property and injuries that occurred during the incident, and asked the member of parliament to help their investigation.

Thang'wa was ordered to appear before the Chief Criminal Investigation Officer (RCIO) in Nyeri today, Friday, November 29, at ten o'clock in the morning.

The senator took to Facebook to respond to the call, accusing the authorities of using intimidation tactics.
