The publication reported that the former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua revealed that the Government has now completely removed his security, accusing him of funding opposition to the government of President William Ruto.

This is happening as secret sources in the Ministry of Interior claim “The major powers in this country want Gachagua to be prevented from entering the country in an early stage of the campaign, in order to help the government implement development projects”.

The sources added that Gachagua seems determined to lead a rebellion against the government, so he must be watched.

The source continued to say that “Our seniors from the main office have instructed us to treat Mr Gachagua in a way that does not give him much chance to roam the country”.

Gachagua, through his personal secretary Munene wa Mumbi, explained that the problems started after Ruto booed in a Catholic church two weekends ago in Embu county.

The former MP attended the church event with Ruto but overshadowed his former boss when the congregation celebrated him with joy.

“It followed last Friday's incident in Murang'a County during the funeral of Mark Wainaina (designated MCA), when mourners refused to read the condolence speeches of the President and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki,” Mumbi said.

He added that when Gachagua visited Murang'a county, where he worshiped at the Kangari AIPCA church, the remaining two guards were removed.

“It is true, as we speak, Gachagua does not have a single security officer provided by the government. When we asked from government offices, we were told that Gachagua must stop political activities,” Mumbi replied.

“What if a group of criminals kidnapped Mr Gachagua and took the information from him by force? It is a normal procedure to provide life security to such government officials,” he said.

The institution, renowned for its international efforts in health, education, and poverty alleviation, had enjoyed legal protections and benefits normally accorded to recognized non-governmental organizations.

Judge Luck The judge of the High Court of Milimani ruled that the benefits granted through Legal Notice No. 157, dated 4 October 2024, will remain suspended pending the hearing and determination of the case filed by the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).

The legal notice, signed by Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Diaspora Musalia Mudavadi on 19 September 2024, provided basic exemptions normally reserved for diplomatic missions and international organizations.

“Pending the hearing and determination of the petitions of both parties, a conservatorship order is issued suspending privileges and immunities,” Judge Mwamuye ordered.

Additionally, the judge prohibited the institution, its directors, officers, employees and agents from continuing to enjoy privileges and immunities.

The Kiswahili newspaper reported that Ruto's close allies, Farouk Kibet and Majority Leader in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung'wah, confronted the bishops who oppose political donations while continuing to donate millions of shillings and vowing to continue the tradition.

The two gave KSh 5 million to a church in West Pokot county, where they criticized some religious leaders for allegedly insulting politicians.

Their donations to the AIC Kitalaposho Church included KSh 2 million from Ruto, KSh 1 million from Kindiki, and KSh 1 million from Kibet and Ichung'wah.

Representing President Ruto in a church fundraiser, Kibet and Ichung'wah announced that they will continue to support churches financially despite criticism, stressing that the donations are for the work of God and not for the benefit of religious leaders.
