A state of uncertainty has engulfed Friends School Womulalu in Vihiga County after a KCSE candidate, identified as Snider Undisa, passed away before completing his final examination.
His teacher, Judy Ronoh, used social media to share her grief and pay tribute to the student who raised her for four years.
The grief-stricken teacher expressed his condolences, remembering the deceased as a good, disciplined and always cheerful child.
Judy revealed that Snider may have had epilepsy, but he loved school and attended classes despite his health challenges.
“Travel safe, my daughter,” he wrote on Facebook.
“It's been four years of raising you.”
He described how difficult the week had been at school since the girl's death, expressing his hope that God would allow him to finish his final exam and get his results.
Snider passed out on the Sunday before his death and was diagnosed with spinal stenosis after three days of unconsciousness.
Despite medical efforts, he died on Thursday evening at the Itando Mission Hospital.
Judy expressed her deep sorrow to Snider's mother, who has worked hard to ensure her daughter's education and well-being.
“Your mother has worked hard for you,” he wrote.
“My heart is full of sadness because of him. I saw his pain in the hospital bed and I felt his breakdown when he informed me about your daughter's death.”
The tragedy has left classmates and teachers grieving, with Judy describing the experience of seeing the little girl's dead body as heartbreaking.
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Judy praised Snider for his perseverance, revealing that despite being sick, he struggled academically.
“He was disciplined and diligent, always attending classes despite health challenges. His death has broken our hearts,” he cried.
