How did the Sagana-Karatina highway accident happen?
The fatal accident occurred on the morning of Friday, November 22, when a truck carrying corn collided with two vehicles on a busy highway.
Kirinyaga West sub-county police said the truck lost direction before colliding with the vehicles coming in front of it and causing deaths.
Videos circulating online showed the scale of the accident, with the two private vehicles damaged beyond recognition.
The truck was seen lying on its side with the corn it was carrying scattered on the side of the road.
Residents who had gathered at the accident site expressed their shock when they saw the tragic incident.
Rescue operations were seen at the scene while the vehicles involved in the accident were removed to clear the traffic.
