“This church looked at KSh 5.8m and said no, thank you, we don't want it. Can a Nigerian church do this? The answer is no; it will be difficult for any church here to refuse this kind of money, which is equivalent to 75 million Nigerian Naira, “ he said.

He said the action of the Catholic Church of Kenya shows that there are African countries that want to see change and pressure their leaders to be responsible.

“Some Africans want to see their country change and their politicians do their duty. They are tired of being lied to. I don't know when Nigerians will start imitating countries like Kenya because they cannot be flattered there,” he added.

Isa wished that his country could imitate Kenya and take action to pressure politicians to be responsible.

“If we want our government to work and the leaders to do what they were elected to do, the best thing is to press them to be responsible,” he said.
