Nairobi – A woman has issued a statement denying any connection with the horrific murder of Wells Fargo corporate manager Willis Ayieko.

Who is Deborah Auko Tendoo?
The woman identified as Deborah Auko Tendo took to Facebook to respond to rumors linking her to Ayieko's death.
Auko revealed that she was forced to report the incident to the police after rumors linking her family to Ayieko's murder surfaced online.
“However, because this affects the integrity of the employees, I have had to file a report of the company's lawyers for criminal cases. Let's try our best to publish or share things that we are sure of,” Deborah said.

Auko claimed that he did not remember the last time he spoke to Ayieko, the Human Resources Manager of Wells Fargo.
Auko, who worked with Ayieko at Wells Fargo, said he had never boarded a plane with the deceased, even for work-related tasks.
“In fact, there is no communication anywhere between the deceased and me that is not official. I would have written a statement by now. I don't remember the last time I even called the deceased or called me.
“I don't know where Little Gem is..I've never been there. I'd like some CCTV footage to be put there if the owners are here. I've never boarded a plane with the deceased…not even for work..our departments can't be further from each other,” You said.
Where was Deborah Auko when Willis Ayieko was kidnapped?
The woman revealed that she was in Nairobi when Ayieko was kidnapped while attending a friend's wake.
Auko said he arrived Poisonous with her husband a day after Ayieko was kidnapped and killed.
“I was not at Ben Agina's house on the night of that fateful day or anywhere near Gem, I worked until 5pm in Nairobi and the CCTV at work could put me.. then I drove home.. I don't know where Ben's house is, and people those who were present at the event can testify.
“I'm in Alego a lot because I got married in Alego and it was a long vacation, I traveled home with my husband and I posted here.. I had nothing to hide,” he added.
He wondered why, with so many theories surrounding Ayieko's death, people still find it easy to associate a woman with a heinous crime.
“There is a family that is going through a lot of pain by pulling them with theories from how he was part of the people who stole KSh 94 million, to an insider among his friends, to the politics of Siaya county and finally, the easiest target, which is a woman,” You said.
Why was Willis Ayieko killed?
Meanwhile, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) shared details about the underlying motive behind Ayieko's murder.
People Daily newspaper reported that the preliminary investigation of DCI You have shown that Ayieko's murder was a case of robbery.
The latest developments follow the questioning of key suspects linked to the murder of a Wells Fargo HR manager.
According to the DCI, one of the suspects, Robert Wakolo Okoth, who was shot dead, allegedly hit Ayieko's head against the wall while forcing him to reveal his bank account details and mobile money PIN.

- The suspect, Victor Okoth, allegedly withdrew KSh 100,000 from the victim's phone account.
- Detectives claimed that another prime suspect identified Duncan Onyango's house as the place where Ayieko was allegedly tortured and killed.
- Fredrick Otieno Omondi, a bodaboda driver from Kisumu, was detained on suspicion of involvement in the events that led to Ayieko's death.
