Kennedy Odhiambo, better known by his stage name Crazy Kennar, has risen to fame as one of the best comedians in Kenya.
In July, he parted ways with members of his comedy group, with whom he had worked for years.
Cast members accused Kennar of terminating their contracts.
Which comedians stopped working with Crazy Kennar?
1. Yvonne Khisa
Yvonne Khisa was one of the most featured actresses in Tales of Crazy Kennar.
The beautiful actress hinted at why she broke up with the comedian in a cryptic post.
“Toxic people playing victim is the funniest thing ever,” he wrote before unfollowing Crazy Kennar on the social network.
In another post, he noted that he wanted to grow professionally by charting his own path. Khisa has since ventured into solo comedy, garnering love and hate in equal measure.
Apart from comedy, he hosts Tales Talk, an online podcast.
2. Bushra Sakshi
Bushra boasts over 100,000 followers on Instagram.
The content creator is developing role-playing games with other actors after leaving the Tales of Crazy Kennar book.
He runs his own YouTube channel, Adventures of Bushie, where he has posted over 115 videos, amassing over 26,000 subscribers.
3. Cynthia Wanjru
Cynthia Wanjiru aka Shiro holds a bachelor's degree in aquaculture and marine science from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).
Shiro confirmed that he did not stop working with Crazy Kennar voluntarily, as his contract was terminated.
“We didn't leave, our contracts were terminated,” he said.
The digital content creator now produces his own sketches, which he shares on his social media platforms.
He is a brand ambassador for Coke and also runs the Yummy Cheap Thrills and Shiro YouTube channels.
4. Stephen Otieno
Stephen Otieno nicknamed Useful Idiot, was one of the members of Tales of Crazy Kennar but left in 2022.
He coordinated non-verbal communication in comedy games. These include body shape and face.
He graduated with a degree in public health from JKUAT. He said he left the team to start his own movement.
“I haven't broken up with anyone, I've started anew,” he said.
5. Stanley Omondi
Stanley Omondi aka Stano was one of the successful members of Tales of Crazy Kennar when they started the 'Content Cartel'.
Omondi was behind the show 'Gengetone Artists in One Class', which made Kennar famous online.
Stano noted that he had no bad blood with Crazy Kennar after he went solo in making skits.
“I decided to make my own videos and I'm more than happy to see that you like them,” Citizen Digital quoted him.
Crazy Kennar to hire new actors
After taking a break from content creation, Crazy Kennar is back, much to the excitement of his fans.
The entertainer put out an open call for new actors, listing specific qualities he was looking for.
Kennar, in his Instastories, noted that he needed actors who could play the roles of a mother and father aged 30-45, ladies and gentlemen in their early 20s, and two children, a boy and a girl aged 3- 12.
What is Crazy Kennar planning?
The comedian is planning a huge live comedy event, which he hopes will be attended by 6,000 people in December.
He shared a video recounting how terrifying this program was for him, and asked Kenyans to support him by buying tickets and coming to the comedy show.
Social media users encouraged her to post it, as many promised to buy tickets and share her event posters once she announced the official date.
