- Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi said that all people including politicians, priests and believers are not perfect before God
- He revealed that they only donate to churches following the invitations of preachers and religious leaders
- Sudi emphasized that they will continue to go to church and pay alms and tithe as required by the Bible
Kapseret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has apologized to church leaders following the rejection of the President's donation William Ruto of KSh 5.6 million to the Catholic Church in Soweto, Nairobi.
Sudi expressed concern if the donation offended church leaders, stressing that all people, including priests, believers, and politicians, are not perfect.
“I would like to apologize to the Catholic bishops and other priests who we may have offended by working with Christians to build God's church. No human being is perfect, be it a preacher, a priest, a congregation or a politician.” we all fall short of God's glory and we must tolerate each other,” Sudi said.
He stressed the importance of giving tithes and supporting places of worship, saying that the church should be supported by all people because it does not have special people to help with donations.
Sudi's claims as to why the church rejected Ruto's donation
He emphasized that direct donations to the primary churches without notifying the senior church leaders may cause tension.
Sudi addressed this by informing the bishops in the future, noting that invitations to support church projects often come directly from priests and pastors.
“They may be disgusted by the political class but the truth is that no politician plans to contribute to the church or other community projects unless he is invited to do so. In many cases, preachers and other community leaders are the ones who invite us to support those courses and not be demonized in consideration to support the growth of society in all aspects,” he said.
The MP, who is surrounded by controversy, insisted that they should attend churches and give offerings and tithes as the Bible requires.
“Christians or Muslims, we all have a duty to offer God alms, tithes and contribute to the construction of places of worship. We will not be prevented from doing so. Jesus went to prepare a place for us and when he was on earth we must ensure that the places of worship are visible, so we will continue to give tithes and build houses of worship.” he insisted.
Criticizing some church leaders for threatening allegations protestSudi called for openness, asking them to clarify their intentions instead of creating divisions.
