The preachers, who are members of the Council of Bishops of the Catholic Church of Kenya, took one opportunity after another to explain the alleged bad leadership of the president and his officials.
They described the challenges in government ministries and agencies, pointing out alleged poor performance, as well as alleged corruption within the administration.
What did Ruto say to the Catholic bishops after they criticized his government
Addressing the graduates of Tangaza University on Friday, November 15, the president criticized the religious leaders for criticizing his administration without understanding what is going on in the government.
He said that although the views of the bishops on important issues are welcome, they should speak the truth based on facts and not rumours.
“It is very exciting that we are here today to do this together, and I want to ask all of us; leaders, preachers, Kenyans, to work together to build a nation that we can all be proud of. And even when we participate in public debates on issues important to Kenyans, we should be careful to be and the truth, lest we become victims of what we accuse others of doing…I know you know what I mean,” said Ruto while being laughed at by the audience.
Why did Sudi attack Catholic preachers?
Previously, Member of Parliament for Kapseret Oscar Sudi he attacked the religious leaders, accusing them of being hypocrites.
