Seth Nyakio: Police Release Photo of Suspect Linked to Murder of 23-year-old Daughter

  • Detectives have called on Kenyans to assist in the arrest of a man believed to be responsible for the murder of a girl in Thika, Kiambu county

Nairobi – The Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) has identified the main suspect in the murder of Seth Njeri Nyakio and is now appealing to the public for information on his whereabouts.

The main suspect in the murder of a woman Thika who is it

The investigation department shared a photo of Ken Kimathi Gichunuku, popularly known as Sultan, who is now wanted in connection with the murder of a 23-year-old woman.

According to investigators, Kimathi has a criminal record.

With more consideration, he was found guilty of making death threats, as confirmed in a court case in September this year.

Detectives warned that the suspect is a dangerous person and can harm anyone he feels can see him.

“The young man seen in the photo below is the main suspect in the murder of Seth Nyakio Njeri, whose body was found at his friend's house in Biafra Street, within Thika town, on October 10,” read the detectives' statement.

Anyone who comes across him is asked to report at any police station or call the toll-free number DCI0800 722 203.

Njeri was found dead in a rented house in Biafra area, Thika, Kiambu county.

How Seth Nyakio met his death

The mother of the deceased, Lucy Njeri, who is also a member of the Kirinyaga County Assembly, narrated how her daughter left their home on Saturday, October 12, cheerful.

He said they kept in touch until Sunday, October 13, but after that he could not reach him as his messages and calls went unanswered.

How the murder happened

A search operation was launched but it was unsuccessful until they received a mysterious phone call from a friend saying that the Zetech University graduate had died.

The initial investigation showed that Seth was strangled.

Police said the attacker abused the deceased before carrying out the brutal act.
