A woman in Kakamega is mourning the death of her son, who died in an accident on the Kakamega-Kisumu Highway on Wednesday, November 13, in the evening.
The accident cost the lives of 10 people and injured several others who are currently receiving treatment in hospitals in the county.

Dina Amimo said that her son, who travels to school from home, usually arrives on time.
However, on the fateful Wednesday, he did not arrive home on time, which worried her because he had already told her that he was on his way home.

“My son always comes home early from college. He left school around five in the morning and has not yet returned home. I was waiting for him on the side of the road from 7 pm to 8 pm until I was informed about the accident. I immediately knew my son was among those involved because he had already told me he was on his way,” he said in a Citizen TV report.
After being informed about the accident, Amino and his family started a search for their relatives in different hospitals in Mbale and Mukumu.
“We tried to find him but all efforts were unsuccessful, we checked Mbale and Mukumu but we did not find him,” he said.
Amino found his son's body in the mortuary of the Kakamega County General Hospital.
