Amorim previously revealed that he would speak to Van Nistelrooy to gauge how he could fit him into his back line. The club, however, announced on Monday evening that the former PSV Eindhoven player will be leaving the club.
“We are grateful for his contribution and the way he has handled his role throughout his time at the club. He will be very welcome at Old Trafford,” read part of the club's statement.
Amorim has also decided to part ways with other first team coaches, Rene Hake, Jelle ten Rouwelaar, and Pieter Morel. The 39-year-old player has come up with his technical bench which will be launched soon.
