Kakamega – Vihiga County is in mourning following the sudden death of the county secretary Ezekiel Ayiego.

Ayiego collapsed and died on the spot at his home in Handidi, Lurambi sub-county, Kakamega, when he went to rest after dinner.
Leaders mourn Ezekiel Ayiego
Senator of VihigaGodfrey Osotsi, remembered Ayiego as a dedicated public servant and teacher, who touched the lives of many children in his career, eventually reaching the rank of head teacher.
“He also volunteered as Vihiga county secretary and head of public service, leading the activities of county government employees. My condolences to his family, Governor Wilber Ottichilo, Vihiga county government civil service and residents. I give you God's comfort in this time of mourning. Rest in peace.” said Osotsi.
Makadara Member of Parliament, George Aladwa, also paid tribute to Ayiego, praising him for his dedication and the respect he had in the community, while praying for Vihiga county's patience in this difficult time.
“On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the late Vihiga county secretary, Ezekiel Ayiego. He was a dedicated and respected servant, and as a county, we will miss you greatly for your exceptional leadership. May God bless the family and comfort him Vihiga county government led by Governor Ottichilo Wilberforce at this difficult time. May your soul rest in peace.” he said.
Member of Parliament for Sabatia Constituency, Clement L. Sloya, expressed his heartfelt condolences, describing Ayiego as a diligent leader who inspired others.
Sloya emphasized that Ayiego's integrity and dedication has left a lasting mark in the county, encouraging others to continue working for the welfare of the people.
His body has been taken to the Kakamega mortuary for post-mortem.
Death of the Chief Pastor of the County Fever Bay
In other news, the Chief Pastor of Homa Bay County, Raphael Obego, passed away on Wednesday, November 6.
Governor Gladys Wanga announced the sad news, describing Obego as a dedicated servant whose steadfast faith and guidance during his tenure will be remembered by many.
Obego became famous for the use of heavy vocabulary while praying in an event attended by the President Ruto.
