This comes after Trump got at least 279 electoral votes by winning key states like Pennsylvania, Georgia, and Wisconsin, while Harris had at least 219 votes.
What did Ruto say to Trump?
The leader of the nation used social media to congratulate Trump on his clear victory in the race for the White House.
“On behalf of the Government and the people of the Republic of Kenya and on behalf of myself, I send you my sincere congratulations on your election as the 47th President of United States,” the statement said in part.

He said that his victory in the presidential election is a clear sign that Americans have faith in his vision and leadership.
Ruto added that as Trump prepares to take over the leadership in the United States, Kenya is ready to strengthen relationship through cooperation in matters of common interest such as trade, investment, technology, innovation, peace, security, and sustainable development.
“Kenya values its longstanding partnership with the United States, which spans more than six decades and is rooted in our shared values of democracy, progress, and mutual respect. We look forward to strengthening our partnership under your leadership as we work together to address challenges international relations, promote peace and security, and stimulate inclusive economic growth for the benefit of our people,” Ruto added.
He also wished Trump all the best as he begins his journey to lead the United States to new achievements under his leadership.
“Congratulations again, Mr. President-Elect, and we hope your administration will bring more progress and unity to the United States and strengthen the relationship between our two great nations. Please accept, Mr. President, my greetings of the highest honor.”
