On Monday, November 4, a student from the county of Kericho she began her motherhood journey after a safe delivery.
Kericho candidate opens up
The young mother gave birth just hours before she was to start the National Secondary School Examination (KCSE).
The Laliat Secondary School student was blessed with a healthy baby girl at the Kericho County Referral Hospital.
She was rushed to the hospital, where she gave birth by caesarean section.
“She came with fetal distress, which led to her being taken to our operating room. She gave birth to a 2.8kg baby girl,” Joel Tanui, Kericho County Referral Hospital superintendent, said.
Hours later, the 18-year-old mother was ready to take her final high school exam.
As a first-time mother, she took her first two exams, English and Chemistry, in the maternity ward of the hospital.
But he was not the only one who took his test at the hospital; other candidates also took their exams in different hospitals.
Another candidate who took his exam in a similar situation came from Nyahururu, the county Nakuru.
The mother of a candidate who died before KCSE speaks
In another sad case, a mother from Meru county whose young son passed away before the national exam KCSE 2024 opened up emotionally.
Naomi Kendi, the biological mother of Nicholas Kairithia, told about her son's illness that led to his death which started in January 2024.
The heartbroken woman said her son had liver problems, which kept him hospitalized until his death.

His mother said they were going to the clinic, and he was also given medicine while the doctors continued to assess the boy's condition.
In October, doctors confirmed that they were incompetent regarding Kairithia's condition, and in November, a day before the start of KCSE, the young man passed away.
