Detectives from the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI) have arrested Hashim Dagane Muhumed, the main suspect in the brutal murder of three women in Eastleigh, a few days after identifying him.
The bodies of the victims—Dahabo Daud Said, Amina Abdirashid Dahir, and Nusayba Abdi Mohammed—were found dumped in different places in Machakos and Nairobi after family members reported them missing.
“Detectives have succeeded in arresting Hashim Dagane Muhumed today after a thorough investigation into the horrific murder of a mother, her daughter, and her 12-year-old niece. The horrific crime led to a massive manhunt for the suspect,” spokesperson for DCI he said.
The main suspect in the murder of Willis Ayieko was originally wanted following the murder of an M-Pesa agent
Dagane is currently in custody and is undergoing legal procedures before being brought to court on Monday, November 4, at the Magistrate's Court of Makadara.
At the same time, DCI has reiterated its commitment to ensure justice for the victims and their suffering families.
How did the DCI recognize Hashim Dagane?
Investigation revealed that Hashim Dagane, aged 24, was driving a Nissan Note (Registration Number KDQ 718Y) which was caught on CCTV cameras picking up the victims from their Eastleigh home on October 21, 2024, hours before their bodies found.
The car was later found abandoned in the Farmers' Market near the bus station ENA Coach.
This led detectives to ask for the public's help regarding the suspect's whereabouts.
