Police have confirmed the identity of the fugitive suspected in the murder of Wells Fargo Human Resources manager Willis Ayieko.
After a fierce confrontation with the police, the suspect was confronted during the search.
How was the main suspect of Willy Ayieko identified?
He was previously known as George Oduor Okoth, but his real name has been revealed to be Robert Wakolo Okoth, who hid under false names to avoid being arrested several times for various criminal offences.
The identification was found when Wakolo's father visited the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Referral and Training Hospital (JOOTRH) to identify his son's body.
“When Oduor was found to be living in Rai area in Nyamasaria, County Poisonousafter his father recognized him at the JOOTRH morgue. His father explained that his son's real name is Robert Wakolo Okoth, and the symbols 'George Oduor Okoth' and 'Kim' were used to avoid police surveillance. said the Department of Criminal Investigation (DCI).
What are the criminal cases that Wakolo was associated with?
Detectives from DCI's Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Division linked Wakolo, 34, to a series of violent crimes, including the murder of Grace Awino Odero, a waitress M-Money in Kibuye Market, on January 27, 2024.
During the incident, one suspect was arrested with an AK-47 rifle stolen from a police officer. Uganda was recovered, along with the Toyota Axio (Registration Number KDL 301P) used in the raid.
However, Wakolo escaped.
In addition, on May 3, 2024, detectives raided Wakolo's house in Nyamasaria guided by intelligence information, where they were able to find another AK-47 rifle, magazines, and 36 rounds of ammunition.
Although Wakolo escaped arrest, his 17-year-old brother, a co-suspect, was arrested and charged.
Wakolo was also a suspect wanted by Kondele police.
The female suspect in Willis Ayieko's murder dies
Meanwhile, before Robert Wakolo evaded arrest in the recent murder incident, he and two women reportedly engaged in a violent confrontation with the police.
During the operation, officers recovered several items from the suspects, including a Ceska pistol with 11 rounds of ammunition and police uniforms.
One of the female suspects later died from injuries sustained while in custody.

The first suspect, Victor Okoth, in the murder incident was arrested at his hideout in Dandora Phase IV area, Nairobi.

Before renting the house in Dandora, Okoth reportedly withdrew more than KSh 100,000 from Ayieko's mobile phone account.
The autopsy report showed that Ayieko died of head injuries caused by blunt force trauma.
