- Kithure Kindiki officially assumed the position of deputy president after the dismissal of Rigathi Gachagua
- President William Ruto used the opportunity to reprimand Gachagua, seeming to indicate that he should focus more on serving his village
- Kenyans on X realized that Gachagua had not changed his profile and asked him to do so
Kithure Kindiki has been sworn in as President William Ruto's deputy, after the removal of Rigathi Gachagua.
Did Rigathi Gachagua change his profile?
Some people took the action of Gachagua's dismissal as a betrayal from Ruto after winning the election.
Ruto also subtly took a dig at Gachagua during Kindiki's swearing-in, while emphasizing unity in the country.
However, despite all that, Gachagua still has a picture with Ruto on his social network.
X's photo of Gachagua shows him speaking during a campaign meeting towards the 2022 elections.
Ruto was standing next to him, smiling as he accepted greetings from the crowd. His biography is also still being read by the vice president Kenya.
X users urged Gachagua to change the picture after his removal. However, others called for patience as he adjusts to his new status as a regular citizen.
“First day of telling Riggy G to remove that title and profile,” X user @chin_o47 wrote.
