Why Eric Omondi's pictures were distributed in Uganda?
The pictures showed members of the National Unity Platform (NUP) party holding pictures of Eric.
The party, led by singer-turned-opposition leader Bobi Wine, claimed that Eric was one of their members who disappeared.
“Where is he? He was born on August 19, 1989, and was last seen in Lwakalolo in Rakai,” a message on one poster read.
Another claimed that Eric's name is Kirya Peter, a head teacher in Masindi.
“When the District Internal Security Officer (DISO) came with Museveni's posters to stick on the school premises, he told him the school is not involved in partisan politics.”
DISO allegedly threatened him before arresting him in February 2021. Eric shared the photos on Wednesday, October 30, on X wondering what was going on.
“Aaaah Uganda. What is this?” he wondered.
TUKO.co.ke noted that NUP shared Eric's photos for the first time in 2022 as they wanted answers about the whereabouts of their members.
They accused the security forces of kidnapping members of the opposition.
The post delighted many Kenyans, who responded by writing:
