The funeral service for the 23-year-old was held at St. Camillus Catholic Church, Karuguru in Ruiru, the county of KiambuTuesday, October 29.
The ceremony was attended by friends and family members who came to pay their last respects to Nyakio.
The faces of Nyakio's family looked sad as they carried his picture and cross before his burial.
Among the guests who attended the funeral was Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru who joined the family in their mourning period.
It is said that Nyakio was killed by a man who is alleged to be her ex-boyfriend who they broke up with.
According to his mother, the elected MCA of the county KirinyagaLucy Njeri, Nyakio left their home in Kamakis on October 12 to visit her girlfriend in Thika but went missing on October 13.
The incident happened just six months after Nyakio was involved in an accident on Lumumba Drive, Rosyambu, the county of Nairobi.

What was the cause of Nyakio's death?
The autopsy report showed that Nyakio died of strangulation, as reported by NTV.
The pressure placed on his neck restricted his breathing, causing a lack of oxygen in his body.
According to Medical News Today, suffocation can block air from reaching the lungs and reduce blood flow to the brain, resulting in death.
The police also said that the attacker tortured the victim before committing the murder.
