According to Omar, the party's National Central Committee (NEC) is waiting for the court's decision to suspend Gachagua and appoint him Kithur Kindiki to be the new deputy leader of the party.

“Once the process in the court is over, we will sit as a party and we will make sure that we replace the deputy leader of the party with a new one,” Omar said.

The Secretary General of the UDA asked Gachagua to resolve his political issues outside the court.

“If he wants to reorganize himself and reorganize himself politically, we wish him all the best but let's continue,” he added.

What did Japheth Nyakundi say about Gachagua politics?

Earlier, Japheth Nyakundi, the party's national treasurer and Member of Parliament for the Kitutu Chache constituency, accused Gachagua of allegedly inciting ethnic politics.

He claimed that the deputy president has shown little interest in cooperating with Kenyans from other areas and said that the country needs leaders who are committed to promoting unity.

He noted that Gachagua would not be eligible to continue being part of the ruling party's senior leaders because he was found unfit to hold the position of deputy president on grounds of misconduct among other charges.
