Bernard Achebe and his wife Winnie got married in 2018 but stayed together for several years before having their first child.
Those lovers who met in College University of Nairobi noted that they lived together for six years before having a child.
Winnie will mention the reasons for not getting pregnant
Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Winnie narrated her journey to trust God to have a child while facing difficult times.
“It was not easy for us, people kept looking and asking questions about our fertility. Since my husband and I are pastors, we have spiritual sons and daughters that we consulted. We prayed for many who were blessed to have children, but for us,” he said. we were still waiting for ours
“I tried everything except magic because I'm a born-again believer. I did everything I could medically, but nothing worked. Part of the reason I struggled to get pregnant was because my fallopian tubes were blocked, and I had fibroids,” Winnie said.
Those restrictions did not stop people from criticizing them, including family members who peppered them with questions.
Winnie is attacked by her cousins during a transportation dispute
Winnie remembered when she disagreed with her cousins about travel and was insulted about her inability to conceive.
“They said if I'm a woman like other women, why didn't I give birth? Some questioned my husband, and others mocked our God. It was very heartbreaking, it hit me hard. I thought they would have my back. Like a family, but it wasn't the case,” he added.
She said that she once left her husband to seek God and plead his case because she had been through a lot and was about to give up.
However, that same year, she sought God, six years after the wedding, and was taken care of to get pregnant.
A woman gives birth to five children once every 9 years
