Nikita Kering Opens Up About Videotaping Inside a Coffin: “A Magical Experience”

After being repeatedly asked about the unusual move, Nikita finally explained the meaning of the piece and the creative process involved.

“Everyone asks why I entered this coffin,” he said, showing that he was tired of the constant questions.

Explaining further, the musician said:

“I think right now, the music video and the song don't match, and that's because they shouldn't match, well, at least for now. Until my EP, The Other Side, comes out. This video was a complete description of what was going on in the EP.”

The musician added that the coffin piece represents “separation from the past… No, let me say separation instead of killing. It's more about letting go of the past and embracing the courage of the future.”

He described the experience of recording in a coffin as “terrifying,” but elaborated:

“Let me say it's not scary because we grew up watching Vampire Diaries and all the weird stuff. So for me, it meant a lot more than what was seen in the video.”
