What did Ruto say about his rift with Gachagua?

Speaking of town Turkana on Friday, October 25, the head of state appeared to hint that his conflict with Gachagua began when he installed his broad-based government.

“I am begging you to allow me to unite Kenyans so that we can work together to build roads, strengthen water supply, ensure there is proper electricity supply and the health sector is improved,” he said.

Ruto also appeared to criticize Gachagua's politics aimed at Mount Kenya, stressing that he will not allow division in the country.

“We have no business with ethnicity. We have no business with people who want to divide the country. I even created a new government that unites all Kenyans,” he insisted.

Why was Gachagua removed?

While this was happening, the sacked Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua reiterated his call for unity in the Mlima area Kenyathe main issue that contributed to his removal from power.
