Nairobi – Former deputy president Rigathi Gachagua has broken his silence a few days after being removed from office.

Gachagua, who is still hospitalized at The Karen Hospital, has not made any public statement since the senators accused him of misconduct.

However, on Sunday, October 20, the embattled former second-in-command took to social media to wish Kenyans a happy 61st Heroes' Day.

Meanwhile, President William Ruto arrived in Kwale for the 61st Veterans Day celebrations at Kwale Stadium, where the deputy president Kithur Kindiki he received him.

The event will honor the heroes and heroines who fought for the freedom of Kenya.

Kindiki's presence comes soon after he was appointed as the vice president, following the dismissal of Gachagua, who was removed from office on suspicion of serious violations of the constitution and abuse of office.

This year's Veterans Day has the theme of Affordable Housing, an important project of the administration Kenya First.
