Senator Seki accused Senate Speaker Amason Kingi of favoritism when the witness was answering questions raised by other senators.

“I represent Kajiado county. I have the right to speak at this meeting. The process seems biased,” demanded the senator.

Speaker Kingi ordered Seki to apologize for what he termed as insulting remarks, warning that failure to do so would lead to the senator being removed from the session.

Kingi insisted that he was conducting the process fairly and denied accusations of bias.

“Seki, you are out of order, and I want you to leave the parliament immediately. You cannot guide the chairman what to do. Unless you apologize, I will kick you out. You cannot say the chairman has a bias. If you have seen, we have been going on a lot. The witness answers and then we go to another matter ,” said the speaker.

The tension led to a temporary suspension of the impeachment trial, while other senators intervened to restore order.

After their arbitration, Seki issued a waiver, allowing the hearings to continue.
