Sorrow spread over Desree Moraa's home as family, friends and fellow doctors gathered to pay their last respects to their colleague who died in September 2024.
Moraa was buried at his father's house in Nyagiki Village, County Kisiion October 15th in a very sad funeral.

The young doctor was found dead in the attic of his house in Gatundu, Kiambu County.
The 27-year-old doctor, who graduated from Egerton University, was a trainee doctor at Gatundu Level 5 Hospital when he died.

According to a KTN report, his funeral was delayed to allow his family members, including his parents who live in the United States, to return home.
The family described her death as a big blow as she was the breadwinner in a family of six children.
His mother, Margaret Obwogi, shared her pain with mourners, explaining how she worked long hours in the United States to pay her tuition.
“I was shocked after hearing the news of my daughter's death while in the United States; the news began to make sense later,” he said.
The family sends a request to the government
During the funeral, the family and representatives of the Association of Doctors, Pharmacists and Dentists Kenya (KMPDU) blamed the government for ignoring the problems of apprentice doctors.
The family's spokesperson, Amos Nyasani, said the young doctor died due to work-related pressure.
Therefore, he asked the government to be responsible and account for the lives that were interrupted suddenly.
In addition, the Chairman of Nyanza Branch of KMPDU, Onyango Ndong'a, also blamed the government for not addressing their call to improve the interests of health workers.

Dimbil Hussein said the young specialist was the only one in his unit and had a lot of work due to long shifts.
He revealed that the young doctor had unpaid bills despite working long hours trying to make ends meet.
Hussein said Moraa's case reflects many other situations that training doctors across the country are facing.
