According to sources, the government has made all the necessary plans, including an announcement in the official government newspaper that will carry the name of Gachagua's successor, which will be published as soon as the senators approve his removal, which is expected to happen tomorrow night.

This means that the government is confident that the Senate will approve the decision of the National Assembly to remove the second deputy from the government.

“I can assure you that by Saturday, we will have a new vice president. The name will be officially announced on Thursday evening once the Senate gives its decision, and we expect the National Assembly to approve the name the next day [Ijumaa],” People Daily quoted an unnamed source.

Among the big names competing for the position of deputy president are Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, Internal Security Minister Kithure Kindiki, Murang'a Governor Irungu Kang'ata, and the Prime Minister Stay Mudavadi.
