Form 3 Student Sent Home to Bring KSh 4k School Fee Found Dead

David Kasyoka, a third form student at Kathekani High School, was sent home to collect a tuition debt of KSh 4,000.

According to the report KTN Newsthe family said Kasyoka was sent home on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, with a debt of KSh 7,000, but the family could only collect KSh 3,000, they gave him, hoping the school would accept.

However, he was sent home again the same day to complete the remaining amount.

“His father put three thousand in the school account. However, when he arrived at school, the headmaster told him that he sent him home, saying he wanted all the fees” John Kioko, the family spokesman, explained.

How did the Makueni form three student die?

Kioko said the third form student did not sleep in his room that night, and was found dead the next morning in the bathroom.

“When they woke up on Thursday morning, they realized that the boy did not return to his room the night before, and after looking for him for a while, they found him dead in the bathroom,” he explained.

The head teacher of Kathekani school, Lilian Muthoni, expressed her disappointment about the matter, saying that the boy could have accompanied his parents to school to explain the situation.

“I encourage my students to accompany their parents to come to school to express themselves if they are burdened with school fees,” he said.
