- Former president of the Kenya Lawyers' Association (LSK), Eric Theuri, said President William Ruto has established himself as a political expert.
- Theuri said that the sacking of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is proof enough that Ruto is more likely to win a second term in 2027
- Despite Gachagua strongly supporting Ruto in the 2022 election, the president remained silent when 281 MPs voted to remove him from power
Nairobi – The removal of Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has continued to attract mixed reactions from Kenyans.
Why Eric Theuri thinks William Ruto will he win the election in 2027?
On Tuesday, October 8, most members of the National Assembly voted to support Kibwezi West Member of Parliament Mutuse Mwengi's motion to remove the deputy president.
Responding to the expulsion of Gachagua, the former president of LSKEric Theuri, suggested that President William Ruto was responsible for the problems of the deputy president.
Theuri said that MPs being able to collect enough votes to remove the deputy president is proof that Ruto is a political expert.
The former LSK leader predicted that due to Ruto's current political tactics, he (Ruto) may rule for two terms.
“The history of this country may never witness a master of the political game of the type of the current president. Those who think that he is a one-term president, come back to your dreams,” said Theuri.
Did William Ruto instruct MPs to remove Gachagua?
During the debate, the Majority Leader of the National Assembly, Kimani Ichung'wah, denied Gachagua's claim that the president justified his dismissal.
According to the vocal member of parliament, the responsibility of executive management is in the hands of the National Assembly, and therefore, a process like removing the deputy president should not be seen as a surprising thing.
He said that the expulsion of Gachagua is the effort of the Parliament itself, and the president does not relationship whatever and that.
What you need to know about the eviction of Gachagua
Gachagua, during his press conference on Monday evening, October 7, at his residence in Karen, linked the proposal to remove him from Ruto and accused the president of treason.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua consoled himself with the Bible after a politically turbulent day on Tuesday, October 8. The deputy president suggested that President William Ruto only needed him to fight former president Uhuru Kenyatta.
Gachagua hinted that a decision had been made that he was no longer relevant to the administration Kenya First.
