In a press conference on Monday, October 7, Gachagua wondered why people were not happy when he talked about government stocks, even though the President William Ruto he was said to have coined the phrase.

Gachagua said his remarks about shares are based on an agreement between the president and other political parties within the Union Kenya First.

Gachagua said Ruto attached a signature to the contract, which indicated that Kenya it is like a stock company.

“No one should accuse me of talking to me about stocks; it's not me. It's my boss, President William Ruto, who signed with other leaders that Kenya is like a stock company. It's not me. He did that, he signed those contracts, participating in Kenya, ” Gachagua said.

Reading the Kenya Kwanza Alliance contract, Gachagua said it clearly stated that the shares that each party will get if they win the election.

Gachagua said that accusing him of dividing the country is not fair because he was only explaining what was contained in the agreement.

“They have divided the speaker, the Senate, the vice president and the president. That's what I've been saying. Then I'm told that I'm dividing the country on ethnic lines. I didn't sign it. I'm just telling the truth,” he added.

Gachagua accused the president and other Kenya First Union leaders of pretending to be patriots, but they only signed the agreement for their regions.

“That's my fault, people want these things to be hidden so they can pretend to be patriotic and say Rigathi Gachagua belongs to the tribe, but those who signed these things should explain why they were only signing things for their regions. ,” the DP said.

As previously reported, Japheth Nyakundi, the national treasurer of the party UDA and Kitutu Chache Member of Parliament, criticized Gachagua for allegedly inciting tribal politics.

He emphasized that the deputy president has shown no interest in cooperating with Kenyans from other areas and said that the country needs leaders who are committed to promoting unity.
