Member of Parliament for Kiharu, Ndindi Nyoro, has sparked a debate on Kenyan networks after appearing to distance himself from the plan to remove the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Parliament received information on the motion on Tuesday afternoon, October 1.
A total of 291 MPs put their signatures in support of the bill.
Some Kenyans feel that his absence from the list of those who signed the motion to remove Gachagua is a strategic move.
Some believe that Nyoro may be on the list Ruto of being Gachagua's successor, and thus joining the argument would be seen as speeding up the process.
Other MPs from Mount Kenya who were silent about the argument were the Member of Parliament for Gatanga, Edward Muriu, and Mary Wamaua of Maragua.
The motion to oust Gachagua is based on accusations of serious violations of the constitution, inflammatory statements, misconduct as a top aide to President Ruto, and allegations of illegal acquisition of assets worth more than KSh 5.7 billion.
After the motion is approved, the parliament will discuss it and a vote will be taken. If two-thirds of MPs support it, the motion will go to the Senate, where the charges will be reviewed for seven days and another vote will be taken. If two-thirds of the senators support it, Gachagua will be removed from power.
