National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah has confirmed the existence of a motion to remove Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Why does Ichung'wah support removing Gachagua?
The member of parliament known for his extreme position revealed that he signed the motion, linking his disagreement with Gachagua to the tribal politics allegedly carried out by Gachagua.
“It is true that there is an argument to remove the deputy president. As an MP of KikuyuI have read the motion and signed it and I will support removing him,” he confirmed.
Ichung'wah, who represents the Kikuyu constituency, stressed that Gachagua's efforts to push for unity in Mount Kenya are fueling ethnic divisions and undermining the government.
He also claimed that there were plans to divide the Kikuyu community before the 2027 General Election, urging members to abandon the Kenya Kwanza alliance and support new political alliances with Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah, and Eugene Wamalwa .
“I don't believe in ethnic politics or undermining the government we built. They want us to abandon what we have built so that others can benefit,” Ichung'wah added.
The UDA politician asked the leaders to focus on the politics of development to fulfill the promises that the Kenya Kwanza administration made to the public.
