Arsenal will play Bolton in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening. Trossard, therefore, will miss this match and will return for the visit of the Foxes on Saturday.
Premier League rules regarding yellow card penalties
Match-specific suspensions are based on accumulated yellow cards. If a player receives five yellow cards in the first 19 games of the Premier League season, he will be banned for one game in the league. This suspension is non-transferable and therefore cannot be served in a Carabao or FA Cup match.
According to Premier League rules, 10 yellow cards in the first 32 games of the season attract a two-game suspension.
Do those rules apply in UEFA competitions?
Red and yellow cards in UEFA competitions have nothing to do with domestic leagues and cups. This means that a red card in a UEFA competition cannot be issued in a league game.
