Kajiado – Former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala has said that the current suffering is being implemented by the government.
He claimed that his house in Kitengela street, Kajiado county, was attacked by unknown people who left with his 19-year-old son and his wife's brother.
Malala posted CCTV footage captured on the evening of Monday, September 23, showing the vehicle used by the attackers entering her compound.
Early on, Malala was open about the hardships she faced for those forcibly removed.
He sent an urgent message on his social networks on Wednesday, September 24.
Were Malala's relatives freed?
The politician claimed that the two faced hours of torture as their attackers demanded information about his whereabouts.
He explained further that after the kidnappers failed to reach him or his wife, they left the two on the side of the road Thika.
He added that luckily, he managed to find them, revealing the emotional damage the situation had caused them.
How Malala's period in UDA was faced with challenges
Malala became the general secretary of the UDA in February 2023, one year after losing the Kakamega gubernatorial election.
He succeeded Veronica Maina, who was appointed senator.
However, his tenure was met with opposition from party members who seemed to despise him.
Governor of PainMutahi Kahiga, led the UDA members who said that Malala was not officially made the general secretary of the party; therefore, he could not order the necessary orders.
The bill to remove him from that position was made in June this year.
In August, he was expelled from the top leadership of the UDA by resolutions announced in an executive meeting chaired by the governor of EmbuCecily Mbarire, who is the national chairman of the party.
Deputy chairman Hassan Omar was appointed interim general secretary.
Malala is currently with Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, who is facing problems from President William Ruto's aides.
