The newly appointed Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of the Executive President, Dennis Itumbi, has confirmed that Rigathi Gachagua he was removed from the president's WhatsApp group.
Why was Gachagua removed from the group?
In a statement obtained by TUKO.co.ke, Itumbi explained that Gachagua and all other people were removed from the group William Ruto of the Diary.
He added that Ruto was the first person to be removed from the group. While explaining why people are removed from the group, he said that the group was deleted.
“After much hesitation, I am forced to put the record straight. The group was permanently deleted due to highly classified documents being shared in WhatsApp groups,” Itumbi's statement read in part.
Itumbi went on to say that a security decision was made that no other group would be created on the president's diary.

Gachagua explains why he misses attending Ruto's events?
Itumbi's statement comes after Gachagua opened up about why he missed attending presidential events recently.
Gachagua revealed that he was unexpectedly removed from Ruto's WhatsApp group for the president's official diary.
Gachagua noted that being separated from the group has made monitoring the president's activities a challenge.
He announced that he will only attend meetings to which he has been invited, as he no longer has regular information about Ruto's schedule.
The vice president revealed that he, his private secretary, and his chief of staff had been removed from the WhatsApp group that regularly updates the president's schedule.
Gachagua said that the group is managed by the president or its controller, and ensures real-time coordination of its movements.
He further deleted the rumors that were spreading that he has been missing presidential events on purpose.
However, Gachagua revealed that he has not yet discussed the issue with the head of state, as he initially considered it a minor issue.
