- A section of Kenyan First MPs have clashed with the second leader and are planning to present a motion to remove him from power
Lamu – The former Laikipia county women's representative, Cate Waruguru, has strongly criticized Kenya Kwanza MPs who are plotting to remove Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua from power.
What will happen to the MPs who plan to remove Gachagua?
During the funeral of the Deputy Governor of LamuRaphael Wanyua, where Gachagua also attended, Waruguru warned MPs who aim to remove the deputy president from power.
The former politician said the MPs pushing the motion to remove Gachagua will not have any chance by the 2027 general election.
According to Waruguru, the second leader tried hard to ensure Kenya First won the 2022 election, and he added that voters will not let those who humiliate him go unpunished.
“We want to tell those who bring the argument to remove him from power; some of them are my sisters and they are looking for signatures to remove Gachagua from the house. People are watching you very carefully. Anyone who wants to fight his elder brother will be sent home early in the morning,” Waruguru said.
The politician known for his strong voice promised that he will not allow “selfish” people to interfere with the relationship between the President William Ruto and his deputy.
When will the motion to remove Gachagua be presented in Parliament?
As TUKO.co.ke reported, the deputy president may leave office before December this year if the plots to remove him succeed.
Sources explained that the motion is already in the national parliament, and efforts are underway to pass it in important stages.
The plot is being revived months after it was abandoned following reports of presidential interference.

NTV reports that the motion can be presented in parliament next week after its founders build a case against the vice president.
Those who oppose Gachagua want him to leave office “before December”.
The plotters are said to have been holding night meetings to achieve that goal.
