Taita Taveta: Students cried bitterly after being informed of the death of the Principal

Tears flowed after the students of the nearby Mzwanenyi Secondary School Taita Taveta saddened to hear of the death of their beloved prince.

David Mombo, Principal of Mzwanenyi Secondary School, died on Sunday, September 15, at Jocharm Hospital.

Emotional photos captured the moment Mombo's students found out he was no more; they comforted each other in a difficult time.

The teachers tried to hold back their tears, but they also comforted the students who were crying in pain.

Family, friends are mourning Master Mombo

Pastors have visited the school to encourage students during this difficult period.

“Bishop Liverson Mng'onda, Clergy, Parents and Education Officers comforting students following the death of the Principal of Mzwanenyi Secondary School Mr. David Mombo,” ACK Diocese of Taita Taveta wrote on Facebook.

Family and friends have also taken to Facebook to mourn the beloved prince. Here are some messages of condolence and mourning:

“Death has robbed us of one of the best sons of our country! It is with a heavy heart full of sorrow that I offer my condolences on the death of Mwalimu David Mombo, who has gone to be with the Lord,” Anselm Mwadime Chao, MCAhe said.

On his part, MCA Duncan Wangama said:

“I am saddened by the news of the death of the Principal of Mzwanenyi Secondary School Mr. David Mombo Mwandagha. He was a progressive leader, teacher and mentor who worked tirelessly with great success and excellence in every position.”

Shedrack Mutungi said:

“It is a sad Sunday, dark and death is cruel, it is unbelievable that we have lost David Mombo, Principal of Mzwanenyi secondary school and Sports Secretary of the Coast Region, after a short illness.”

Students mourn the teacher's death

In other news, the school was plunged into mourning following the death of an employee whose hard work was evident.

Richard Kiplangat Mutai passed away on Wednesday, September 4, leaving members of the school in limbo.

Students and staff of Simoti Secondary School gathered at his funeral service while mourning him.
