Kajiado – Collins Kibet, grandson of the late retired president Daniel Arap Moihas been arrested.
The young Moi was reported to have been arrested in the area of Ongata Rongai after evading police officers for seven months.
The 45-year-old man was a fugitive, evading arrest despite a court order ordering him to take care of his two children.
Kibet is arrested after several months of frustration by the police and his ex-girlfriend, Gladys Jeruto Tagi, who has been struggling to get custody of the children.
Jeruto's lawyer, Elizabeth Wangare, told the Nation that Moi who was not seen was arrested on Wednesday, September 18 in the morning at his home.
How has Kibet evaded arrest for so long?
The court, in its decision earlier this year, ordered him to appear in court, but he boycotted which led Chief Magistrate Kipkurui Kibelion to issue a warrant for his arrest on April 30.
For several months, authorities have struggled to find Kibet, with Wangare previously telling the court that police were facing great difficulty in executing a warrant for his arrest.
It is believed that Kibet has been using his friends such as police officers to avoid being caught.
