Kimani Ichung'wah Claims Gachagua Attacked Itumbi in State Lodge: “So Petty”

Nairobi – The Majority Leader in the National Assembly, Kimani Ichung'wah, has continued to criticize the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

Gachagua's reasons for threatening Dennis Itumbi

In one incident, Ichung'wah narrated how the Deputy President allegedly threatened Dennis Itumbi, the Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Office of the President.

Ichung'wah claimed that Gachagua grabbed Itumbi by the shirt in government house and threatened him because he refused to send a Twitter message that the DP wanted.

“I don't know what you can say about a person who holds a high office in the government, who enters a meeting in the government house, then grabs a junior officer by the name of Dennis Itumbi by the shirt, threatening to beat him inside the government house because someone who had no special role until recently , he didn't send a tweet that you would have liked,” Ichung'wah said on Tuesday, September 17.

Ichung'wah, who described the Deputy President as vengeful and petty, went on to give more examples of instances where Gachagua allegedly reacted emotionally when people disobeyed him.

“Why, when you hold a high office, do you have petty and vengeful things with officials because they do not bow before you and praise you as king and the greatest of all? Why, for example, do you despise your own parliamentarian and tell the whole world the amount of the dowry what you paid for his wedding?” he wondered.

According to the majority leader, Gachagua's behavior changed as soon as he was sworn in as Deputy President.
