Machakos – Governor Wavinya Ndeti has received a hero's welcome following his just-concluded tour of England.
On Monday, September 16, Ndeti returned to the country and was welcomed again by his supporters at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
What Wavinya Ndeti was doing in England
Speaking on his arrival at JKIA, the Machakos governor blasted his opponent for allegedly spreading baseless claims about his trip to the UK.
Ndeti said he was happy to return to the country after his business visit, where he monitored fire engines and garbage collection equipment.
“I am happy to return home. As you know, I had gone to England for a meeting with other governors to monitor fire engines and garbage collection equipment,” Ndeti said.
From JKIA, Ndeti arrived in Machakos town, where hundreds of his followers welcomed him with songs and dances.
Some supporters were heard singing 'Mama Wa Meko' while Ndeti admitted to being cheered by the crowd.

Speaking to TUKO.co.ke, Ndeti highlighted some of his achievements which he said were giving his opponents sleepless nights.
Governor of Machakos how his innovative empowerment programs and projects have positively affected the residents.
“Our empowerment programs have caught my opponents off guard. And let me assure you—it will only get better! The number of tangible, visible, and impactful projects we've delivered is incredible,” he said.
Ndeti pointed out that his revenue management and administration had restless businessmen who were taking advantage of the guidance system.
“Our continued operation of the county's revenue sources is expected to increase the speed of revenue collection. This is unfortunate for those who benefited from the functioning of the system,” he added.
How Wavinya Ndeti responded to the alleged arrest
At the same time, the governor of Machakos denied allegations that he smuggled millions of money out Kenya to England.
Online reports claimed that a British bank refused to accept large sums of money from Ndeti due to concerns over the legitimacy of the money.
Ndeti dismissed the allegations as false and humiliating while insisting that he and his family are safe and in good standing in Kenya and abroad.
Ndeti announced his intention to take legal action against those spreading the defamatory rumours, accusing them of endangering his safety and that of his family.
