Friends School Kamusinga: Form 2 student falls into the sewage chamber and dies

Bungoma A sad situation has reached the Friends School Kamusinga community in Bungoma county following the death of suddenly of a sophomore.

The student, whose name has not been mentioned, died after drowning in the sewage chamber at the school on Sunday, September 15.

A statement from the school's BOM chairman, Moses Poipoi, says the student fell into the tank before being picked up and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Poipoi said the second form student died at 7.00 pm while being treated at Life Care Hospital.

“I would like to inform you that I received a call from the school principal at 4.00 pm on September 15 about the late student who had fallen and was pulled out of the sewage tank in the afternoon. He was taken to Kimilili Sub-County Hospital. and then taken to Life Care Hospital for more management He passed away at 7.00 in the afternoon while being treated at Life Care Hospital,” Poipoi said in a statement that TUKO.co.ke read.

The chairman of BOM said the Ministry of Education, together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, have already initiated an investigation into the incident.

On behalf of the school management, students and staff, Poipoi sent his condolences to the family of the second form student.

“At the same time, the investigation of the Ministry of Education and Internal Affairs is ongoing, the executive team joined the staff in addressing the students, there is calm in the school, we as a board have decided that security and safety measures should be taken care of in the school.

“On behalf of the students, staff and BOM, I would like today to convey our sincere condolences to the family,” he added.
