Why William Ruto should not underestimate the silence of Gen Z

On Friday, September 13, Amisi welcomed a group of young people from Tuwan Ward to his home in Matisi with the aim of empowering the groups economically.

In a statement, Amisi said the country's youth are still determined to move forward with the call for reform.

According to the young MP, President Ruto's administration should strive to work on the grievances raised by the youth.

He argued that protests against the government may re-emerge if the government Kenya First it will fail to usher in the reforms that Gen Zs demand.

“Today I held a #GenZ meeting for tile. They told me they were on a commercial break. If the government messes up again, it will fall with it. Work for you William Ruto,” Amisi said.

Caleb Amisi hands over KSh 2 million to youth groups

During the empowerment programme, the ODM MP gave KSh 2 million to 55 youth groups with 2,000 members.

According to Amisi, his contribution aims to create opportunities and develop the welfare of the youth in his constituency.

“I made a personal donation of KSh 2 million to support 55 youth groups in Tuwan Ward, benefiting over 2,000 youth in slum areas. This follows a matching donation of KSh 2 million to youth groups in Matisi Ward, aimed at promoting independence financially.

“I am determined to extend this support to the remaining wards – Saboti, Kinyoro, and Machewa. These efforts show my commitment to create opportunities and advance the welfare of our youth across the state. Gen Z's unexpected protest against Ruto

As previously reported, Ruto could never expect a peaceful citizenry to rise up against his rule and demand more accountability.

Digital activism forced the president to obey the demands of a public that felt oppressed.

The youth of Kenyapopularly known as Gen Zs, used social media to inspire an unprecedented movement that many initially dismissed as a futile cause.

The condemned Finance Bill 2024 sparked the first ever rebellion against Ruto from the traditional opposition under veteran political figure Raila Odinga.

The bill contained a series of tax measures that would hurt the financial well-being of already overtaxed citizens.
