Pain – Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has criticized Mount Kenya MPs who recently agreed to support Home Affairs Minister (CS) Kithure Kindiki.
Gachagua, who looked very angry, threw dirt at the leaders, accusing them in harsh words of betrayal.
Speaking at the official opening of the Eno Central Agricultural Exhibition Kenya (ASK) in the Kabiru-ini stadium, Nyeri, Friday, September 13, Gachagua described the politicians as vendors.
The Deputy President likened them to the characters of an ancient story Kikuyu involving a hyena and a rabbit where the hyena and the rabbit agree to beat their wives.
In the story, the rabbit cleverly uses the dance to avoid causing harm, leaving the hyena to do all the damage.
“Do you know our hyenas? Do you know them? Do you know them? Now our people with everything that is going on, is there something that you don't know? You know who the hyenas are in this story, and you know. Fools beating their wives despite hardships, I will stand firm for this government, and I will not move ” Gachagua said.
How will Gachagua deal with critics?
The Deputy President emphasized that the MPs were motivated by personal greed rather than the interests of the community Mount Kenya.
He accused them of trying to create divisions within the region for their benefit, and to undermine the unity of the Kenya Kwanza administration.
Gachagua revealed his awareness of political tricks and his readiness to deal with them at the right time.
“I don't know many things. I'm not very smart, but I'm not stupid either. There's something I know and when the time is right I'll talk,” said the vice president.

How many MPs from Mount Kenya have endorsed Kindiki?
About 35 MPs attended the meeting, while 13 MPs sent their apologies but agreed.
In a statement to the newsrooms, the MPs said they had unanimously decided that the Minister of Interior would be their link with the national government.
The MPs further decided to form a coordinating committee to connect them with the executives.
They complained that their efforts to strengthen development were stalled in the past due to the lack of a reference center where the interests and priorities of the people can be directed to the government to be implemented.
