Turkana – A veteran woman has painfully opened up about her family's biggest loss from which she has yet to recover.

How many Lomulen children did the bandits kill?

The woman said she was blessed with eight children, including her husband, who died during the COVID period.

Lomulen said with great sadness that he lost his five children who were killed at school following an attack by bandits.

“Thugs attacked an educational institution where my five children attended. They killed 40 students, and among them were my five children. I was left with three,” he told it Citizen TV Kenya.

Lomulen from Turkana county said he was left with two daughters and one son after losing a large family.

One of his daughters later left home, and since then, Lomulen has never seen or heard from her.

The other got married and had three children, who returned home after life became difficult.

“I am the one who takes care of them. I work hard to make sure they attend school, get uniforms, and eat. However, it is not easy because of the desperation at home and the bandit attacks that happen regularly. I sell firewood to earn a living.

“Sometimes we lack food. I have been starving for many days. Sometimes, when we lack food, I boil water and mix it with salt, then give the children to drink and sleep. It is a very difficult situation, and I would like to ask for help from charities,” he cried.
