What was Masengeli doing when his sentence was delivered?
In a statement obtained by TUKO.co.ke, the National Police Service (NPS) said Masengeli presided over the closing ceremony of Sub-County Police Commanders at the National Police Leadership Academy in Ngong'.
“Ag. IG, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, today presided over the closing ceremony of the Sub-County Police Commanders (SCPC) course number 2/2024 at the National Police Leadership Academy (NPLA) in Ngong',” the statement said. part.
In his remarks on Friday, September 13, the acting IG urged officers to work together as a team to enhance their services to Kenyans.
The SCPCs presented policy briefs to Masengeli on police station management, crowd control in 21st century policing, and police integrity.
The event was also attended by Nyale Munga, Commander of Kiganjo Main Campus; David Birech, Director of Training and Research; and Resila Onyango, NPS Spokesperson and NPLA Commander is Mr. Matthew Kainga.
Why was Masengeli found guilty?
Masengeli was found guilty of disobeying court orders on Monday, September 9.
Judge Lawrence Mugambi explained that Masengeli has continued to hold the court after failing to honor six subpoenas.
The judge claimed that the court could no longer determine what would happen to the three missing people in Kitengela because of the action of the acting IG.
On Monday, September 9, Masengeli appeared in court to deal with the disappearance of the three.
Initially, Masengeli was required to attend the court session for the interview by three o'clock on Tuesday, September 3.
This followed an earlier order for security agents to reveal the whereabouts of Bob Micheni, Jamil Longton, and Aslam Longton, which was ignored.
