Why Mt Kenya MPs chose Kithure Kindiki
The leaders explained that their efforts to strengthen development were previously stalled due to the lack of a reference center where the interests and priorities of the people can be directed to the Government for its implementation.
“The Mt Kenya region has been subjected to high octane politics about unity to support individual and personal desires instead of expressing, following and influencing the interests of our constituents.
“Our attempt to call the region to prioritize the developmental needs of the people has been frustrated by threats of negative political consequences unless we support personal interests and goals. But time is of the essence as we are already less than three years. years to the end of the first term of this Administration,” they added.
Why Kimani Ichung'wah warned Gachagua
Elsewhere, Member of Parliament Kikuyu Kimani Ichung'wah warned Gachagua against using his drive to seek the unity of Mt. Kenya to benefit himself.
The two have been at loggerheads, with their differing views causing friction between Kenya First leaders.
