Seleman Shomary said the delay in health services caused his wife's death despite efforts to help her.

How much did Shomary pay for the ambulance?

Shomary said he had to pay for health services that the hospital was supposed to provide for free.

His wife was in critical condition and needed to be transferred to another hospital for better care.

“We had to pay for the ambulance, which I later found out was supposed to be free. There was back and forth because of the money involved. I was told to pay KSh 8,500 so that we could get ambulance services. I negotiated and paid KSh 4,700 first while my wife was being transported to another hospital,” he told Ayo TV.

I want justice, Shomary says

It hurt Shomary that his wife would have been alive if the doctors had examined her earlier instead of taking action and forcing her to pay for free services.

“I want justice to be done, and I want my money back. I am asking the government to intervene in this matter because it is not fair. After sacrificing myself, I was called to be told the news,” The Tanzanian said.

The incident forced the residents to gather behind him and question the hospital and the relevant authorities as to why this happened.
