- Lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi said President William Ruto will regret it if he fails to politically control his deputy, Rigathi Gachagua
- The outspoken lawyer warned Ruto against allowing Gachagua to continue campaigning and opposing government agendas
- According to Ahmednasir, Ruto should be tempted to repeat the mistakes made by retired president Uhuru Kenyatta
Nairobi – A lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi has warned President William Ruto against following in the footsteps of his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta.
What mistake did Uhuru Kenyatta do?
In his statement on Monday, September 9, Ahmednasir asked him Ruto he should learn from Uhuru's mistakes in dealing with the rebellious vice president.
According to Ahmednasir, Uhuru made a big mistake by failing to control Ruto, who was then his deputy in the Jubilee government.
“HE Ruto must learn from Uhuru's mistakes. Just as Uhuru made many costly mistakes and had great difficulty in dealing with the open rebellion of his deputy, William Ruto, William Ruto must not make the same mistakes again,” Ahmednasir said.

Should Rigathi Gachagua be dismissed?
He claimed that although the president cannot fire his deputy, Ruto should consider using the parliamentary process to impeach the DP Rigathi Gachagua.
He explained that, unlike Uhuru, Ruto currently has the numerical strength in parliament to remove Gachagua.
The outspoken lawyer said that because suing Gachagua could have political consequences, Ruto should consider dealing fully with his deputy.
“Unlike Uhuru, Ruto (currently) has a majority in parliament. Undoubtedly, removing Gachagua causes many problems for Ruto, but just as Uhuru made a mistake by failing to face Ruto face-to-face and face him decisively, Ruto must learn from history and don't make the same mistakes,” he said.
Why doesn't Ruto give Gachagua a chance?
While arguing with Gachagua, Ahmednasir said the president should never allow his deputy to campaign against him, his government, and policies 24/7 in churches and public meetings.
“The vice president should never be allowed to insult and undermine his boss 24/7… it makes no sense. A vice president who openly rebels against his boss, develops his constituency over time, will run a parallel government,” he added.
Ahmednasir, who insisted that Ruto not make mistakes like Uhuru, asked the president to deal firmly with Gachagua before it is too late.
“He must reduce the size of Gachagua before he becomes too big to handle… as Uhuru belatedly realized with his deputy, William Ruto… to his eternal regret,” the outspoken lawyer added.
Why did Gachagua accuse government officials of being liars?
- His sentiments come a few days after Gachagua accused some Kenya First leaders of continuing to deceive Kenyans.
- Speaking at ACK St. Patrick's Church in Kayole, Gachagua said that many government officials have been lying for a long time.
- According to Gachagua, his critics in the Kwanza administration in Kenya fear him because he is an honest person.
